Vanessa Lee Carlton

Vanessa is a musician that was born in August 16, 1980 in Pennsylvania. She is best known for the single "A thousand miles" from "Be not nobody", her first album. Be not nobody was released April 30, 2002, and certified platinum in the U.S.
Her second album was "Harmonuim", with the single "White houses". And her third and last album is called "Heroes and thieves".
MTV censored "white houses" because of a lyric in the song that refers to sexual intercourse. Carlton said it was hypocritical for MTV because "All that is on MTV is sex. They are selling it all the time with sexy hip-hop videos with girls in their bras and panties doing their booty dance. But an eloquent statement about it from a female point of view...".

Upcoming Album (Fourth Studio Record): 2009–2010
On January 28, 2009, she posted on her Myspace blog that she is working on a new album and that she had been planning it since January 2009, after having a writer's block last year. This album will bring, for the first time, an instrumental song called "Waltz". In a recent interview, she stated she was half way done with the album and that it would probably be released later this year.

For sure, Vanessa Carlton is a star.
